honest scrap

honesty is always the best policy I received this award from Annette and it is a fun activity to share some little HONEST tidbits about me...I didn't know how difficult it would be to come up with new stuff that I could just put out there...and it did prompt me to try to be efficient with space, because each entry by itself had the potential to be an entire post, but when I realized I was explaining myself...the thoughts behind the "scrap," I decided keeping it simple would suffice and I trust you will relate to some of them and need no further explanation. I am suppose to pass it on to seven others, but am more inclined to offer it as an activity for your enjoyment of thinking through the real you...so take it, be candid and maybe you will discover it was kind of fun!

10 honest things about me:

  1. I’ve never dyed my hair, but I’ve been thinking about it. A few grey hairs are coming in…but I’m afraid I will botch it up and my hair will glow in the dark or something and then don’t you have to touch it up regularly? I have a hard enough time remembering to shave my legs.
  2. I have an obsession with my toilets being clean. I came from the old-fashioned fabric of feminine worth that if your toilets are clean and you can make gravy, then you are quite a gal…well, some times my gravy is lumpy, but the bigger challenge is in keeping my mouth shut when the boys are peeing at night without turning the lights on. Argh! How much effort does it really take to wipe the porcelain from misguided attempts? I will never go hunting with these guys.
  3. I hate to put gas in my car…I don’t like the smell and I think about all the germs on the pump handle. Yes, I may be a little OCD…and you should always get your water without lemons in restaurants…trust me.
  4. I’d kind of like to camp out one night with my homeless friends just to feel how cold they get…but I’m afraid I might like it.
  5. I wish I had had more children. My children have made parenting fun and I can’t really blame any of those grey hairs on them. It would be nice to have one screw up so I can justify the momentary lapses of sanity.
  6. When dirty t-shirts and stinky socks get thrown in the laundry wrong side out, that’s how they get put back after they are washed. I thought this would be a lesson in conscious effort…but I was wrong…pants are next.
  7. I am a hopeless romantic and a sucker for small children and cute animals. I get caught up in movies that sweep me off my feet (why can’t that be me?), I buy way too many Girl Scout cookies and yes, I buy one box just for me, and I refuse to look at the cute little puppies that people are giving away outside of the grocery store because the odds are I would have to go back inside to purchase dog food.
  8. I don’t like my nose to be pinched. For some reason this makes me instantly angry and this isn’t an emotion I experience very often…anger is highly over-rated, raises the blood pressure and compromises logic…but pinch my nose and I am transformed into someone I do not know.
  9. I love learning new words, they catch my eye and I am driven to look them up. Words are far more powerful than we give them credit. They can crush the human spirit or liberate the oppressed…there is a word for every thing, but the words we choose to store and use are a reflection of ourselves. Today’s word: benevolence.
  10. I drink way too much coffee, but this is where I get the energy to do the laundry, clean the house, feed the homeless, and fight off those who insist pinching my nose is fun. Good coffee, a box of Girl Scout cookies and a Ya Ya or two and I am perfectly content. Another cup?

I loved it!!! I never knew that about your nose, so how did you manage the piercing thing? and I want to know why I cant have lemon in my water, I do it everyday at work with 32 oz. of h20. I use to do the same with dirty socks and T~shirt's, I don't wash my teenagers cloths anymore, I REFUSE too, and Larry...well...he knows better! you should have told me you wanted a child that would help with your sanity I HAD 1. I love you just the way you are.
XOXOXOXOXOX

I hate, hate, hate getting my nose pinched too. The strange thing is... that was my father's little touch of love. And I loved him, so he's the only one I would ever let do it, but I hated it even then.

Love your honesty. And yes you have to touch the hair up. Once you start there really isn't ever any stopping.

Wow...that is an awesome reveal about yourself. A little OCD? maybe, but better safe than sorry huh? I really enjoy it when bloggers share a little about themselves, I love seeing that we are all the same for the most part, just with different wrappings!
Thanks for making my day a little better!

I love this and will snag it. I never seem to really say anything about myself on my blog and just realized that. Duh...

I love the camping with the homeless best. I laughed out loud. I think I would like it too.

I can't make gravy no matter how much my Mom tried to teach me.
