Tomorrow is slotted for a "girl's day." We are off to explore our favorite antique shops and second-hand boutiques. It's strange to see the stuff from my childhood in antique stores. Bless Kristin's heart for her patience when the mere sight of an object sparks up a memory and she is forced to listen to me reminisce about it. How ironic is life when we throw something out and then hold it years later only to pine for the days it existed as our possession. Of course it's not really the object, but the carefree days of youth when the world was different, that we crave. There's nothing like an easy bake oven or all of its miniature-sized pans to remind me of the days when I discovered how hot a light bulb really does get.

Can you believe I don't remember ever seeing these? 'Course I am a tad older than you & Kimberly. :)
I can relate, though, to the things we had and see becoming popular again. I guess if we'd saved everthing in a storage unit, we could become rich now. :)
Have a great day tomorrow, and hopefully Kristan won't mind your reminisces!! (I know I didn't spell that right!) ((hugs))
Have a wonderful day with your girl. You are so lucky she wants to even GO with you. My guys just sigh heavily when I suggest these things. and my husband well forget it it's just too painful.
I remember these two - I loved them!
I also remember reading a magazine article about her. Her husband passed away pretty young and before he died, they froze some sperm and she had a child a couple of years later. Random trivia.
How Fun! I love doing that! Have Lots of fun sweetie!!hughugs
Oh gosh...do I remember those cartoons!!! Wow... that was a long time ago...man o pete.... wow.... Your day sounds like a fun one and boy, can I relate about finding things in those stores that you remember so well! I posted on my blog...oh, maybe a year ago, this story...I was in an antique store and FOUND MY SENIOR HIGHSCHOOL YEARBOOK FOR SALE!!! There I was, and my ex...all smiling away in a book for sale in an ANTIQUE STORE! It totally threw my shopping off and I wandered around with a somewhat dazed look after finding it.... A clerk passed me by and said 'It's somewhat overwhelming, isn't it?'(meaning the size of the store and all that was in it)...I thought....'Lady, you have no idea.'

Oh I so remember the blue eyeshadow... AND I wore white some too..........Cannot believe I did that! What a sweet post..... Memories are bitter sweet!
That sounds like a wonderful day. I remember those cartoons! Have a fun time reminiscing.
One of my most favorite things to do is to wander through antique stores with my sisters. We exclaim "mom had this!" oR "grandma O had that!" Or most often, "Nonny (my mom's mom) had those." And "remember when we did. .......?" Just thinking about it brings me joy! And a little catch in my throat as I remember my grandmothers and my mom. Oh, Joni, you know how to get to me, don't you! Blessings my friend.
