a heart for the homeless

Some of you have asked if I still feed homeless people on Fridays. Yes, I do! Even when my schedule is incredibly hectic I know they are counting on me to show up, so every Friday, rain or shine I trek on downtown with my basket of goodies. I have minimized my cooking though because there has gotten to be so many people (40 last week). It's easier on me to make sandwiches and with the weather heating up I don't think they mind. Earl is still hanging around. Last week I took him a map of Chattanooga Tennessee so he could see the surrounding towns, hoping it would boost his memory. I just love to sit and talk with him and some of the others. Pretty soon it will be a year since I started doing this...a gentle reminder that while everything changes, everything stays the same.

I got tears going on here! I remember that gentleman, but not his name, has been a year since you let God's love shine through? doesn't seem like it! and it's homeless awareness week? PLEASE give Earl a hug for me, he's so sweet and I love to hear him talk about EVERYTHING!
I LOVE YOU!

I wish I was there so I could help you make all those sandwiches! What a gift you are to all of those 40 some people.

So it's been a year that we have been visiting each other. I found you just before you started your project of love. You are an inspiration to me, and a gift from God to those precious souls you have been helping.

May God bless you and them!
