my world wednesday

I'm up to my eyebrows with William Faulkner and while I do enjoy southern writers, he and Flannery O'Connor are beginning to appear in my dreams...one more late night with the two of them and I'll swear they had influence over writing my papers...but life goes on, spring has sprung. Erik has been home from college all week on his spring break, although I've seldom seen him. Last night both kids had their boyfriend/girlfriend over for dinner. It was nice having everyone here...good times were shared and we got to hear the story of the day. My daughter stopped for gas on her way to work and she ran inside to grab a protein bar, still half-asleep, she drove off with the gas nozzle still in her car. She went back inside to apologize and ask the guy if she needed to pay for it and he said "No, that was the funniest thing we've seen in a while, don't worry about it." I'm pretty sure that one will be in her top five most embarrassing moments!
I was still laughing today just thinking about it. That's my daughter...bless her heart!

What a fun filled evening had by all..giggling about the gas pump, makes me smile too, I've seen that done, and the expression on the poor persons face in priceless. Amanda kept saying " Mom, K (and said her name) is so beautiful" and I had to respond back and said " Yea, she is, very pretty, and smart too, she waited a tad bit before having a serious relationship, pretty & smart girl" I got this roll of those big brown eyes of her's. and Lacey, just looks adorable, you can til she feeling pretty about herself.
Love ya

Oh no! Drove off with the nozzle still in her car! That was so nice of them to not make her pay for any damages. What a blessing.

Oh goodness. What a story she will remember for the rest of her life. I bet her face was several shades of red. But at least she went back to see what she needed to do. See, momma raised her right!

Glad you are getting to enjoy the visit of your children and their special friends.

Laughter is wonderful isn't it? I love to laugh.
Joni, thank you for all your comments you leave me. I appreciate them so much. I am sorry I haven't visited much. It is like I have told my friends, I feel weak. Depleted..
But please know you are loved, xoxo Nita

Good to catch up, Joni..it is nice to have the family around, isn't it? I am enjoying being with Jo and family in NY at the moment! What fun. Still coping with the jet lag though! Nice to watch the Spring arrive. It is already 10 degrees warmer than when I arrived! I loved seeing all the daffodils ready to bloom yesterday when I went out for a walk. Wonderful Such a radical season change for me to observe! I am so lucky to be able to visit my family here. Fun to be with the baby again too. He is growing rapidly into a little BOY, almost!
