being still

Today in the grocery store
I heard a mother ask her small son,

"Can't you just be still in your shoes!?" This resonated with me most of the day because I so desperately want to be "still in my shoes". The days have been so busy, so tonight I took a moment just to be still and it was majestic,
I highly recommend it.

Now if I could just tap into that boy's energy!

Wonderful perspective, Joni.... sometimes being still is just what our spirit needs...and I find I have a hard time doing just that!! It's a wonderful thing to take time to be still and just 'be'. Thank you for your visits and comments about David's home and Fall Fairy visits. The yarn I used is from Lion Brand Yarns...it's a kind called 'Homespun' and the color is 'Harvest'. I get mine at Michael's Crafts...so treat yourself to some autumnal colors!! : )

Thanks for your visit to my sky post Joni...so glad you enjoyed my "waterfall" sky! It was a bit tricky trying to catch that photo...someone said he liked how I framed it, and I should tell him, well, I found it hard to capture it at all, amongst all the trees at my place! Perhaps I should have gone and stood out on the road and tried...mmm...that would have been interesting!

Hope your week has been going better than your Monday. Yes, it is so nice to be "still" isn't it? I feel compelled to be still when I am reading your blog and listening to your music...(when I am not over my download limit for the month as I am now)!!

[I am also still for too long...and find it difficult to get up and get things done sometimes]! ;-)

Glad you enjoyed the weekend with your som home..it is fun when they come home to visit isn't it? Now when mine come, they are accompanied by many grandchildren...what fun!

Love your sunset pictures and the thoughts are inspiring.

I find that I must "be still" ever so often or I just quit functioning. I simply must have some time to just sit and just be.

I could use some still time. Great insight.

Joni, my favorite time to be still is when I'm looking at a sunset. Somehow a sunset alway gives me a little glimpse into heaven, and then all is right with the world.

I'm enjoying my morning coffee with you today! Blessings on your day.

I am surprised he didn't just take his shoes off, that would have freed him. I love the pictures you posted. Last night while at class, during break, I looked out the 4th story windows and the skyline view of downtown Tulsa with the sun setting, the lights coming on, it was all just so beautiful. time stood still for just a second, then it was back to class.

Some days it seems we'll never get to have time to be still, and then all of a sudden it's there. Quiet time, that if I take advantage of it, my soul becomes still. Thanks for reminding me to do that.

Being still is good. I love the scripture, Be still and know that I am God.
That is one of my very favorites. There is power in just letting our minds be quiet and jsut think.

I'm learning quickly to be still and it's a blessing! I sometimes am so still I don't get up LOL.

Wonderful message for everyone. We should all "schedule in" stillness and live better for it :)

hmmm...there is alot to be said in a request like that. I was just talking with a friend earlier tonight how easy it is to run run run and ask God questions but not keep still for the answer. Your statement (or rather that of the mother with her son) reminds me of that very same thing.
God keeps telling me...don't worry and just be still. It will all come about in MY timing.

Bless your heart. I imagine that school is keeping you pretty busy and moving about right now.
God bless you with strength to push through, peace to breathe, timing to savour each moment and see His blessings, quiet times to sort through it all, and His hugging arms in your constant awareness.
