At Year's End

These days are glorious. They are filled with a number of things to do and each morning when my feet touch the cold floor I am so thankful. My children are stretching their wings and moving to the edge of the nest and I can feel their enthusiasm. They have big plans and I am excited for them. This short winter break has been very refreshing for all of us. Just enough time to gather our composure and renew our perspectives as we head off into a new year. New beginnings are always exciting, but of course I think it's important to take a little time out to count our blessings of the past. I am thankful for so many things...as I look back in my 2007 appointment book I can easily compile a random list of grateful thoughts...please feel free to share your own!

January - I am thankful for family togetherness and the strength we can draw from knowing that in the end, love is what we are left with and it will be enough to get us through.

February - I am thankful for a healthy family and that we have ample opportunity to reach our goals.

March - I am thankful that my children are so close and that they respect each other's crazy ideas.

April - I am thankful for normal mammograms.

May - I am thankful for my mom and her gracious, loving ways.

June - I am thankful for living where I can pray and worship freely.

July - I am thankful for friendships, new and old.

August - I am thankful for adventure and for prompt medical care!

September - I am thankful for quiet time and observation.

October - I am thankful for Erik and his sense of integrity.

November - I am thankful for Kristin and how she fills all of the nooks and crannies with her fun-loving spirit.

December - I am thankful for my relationship with God and how my life has been enriched by Him.

Joni, I have visited this post several times reading and thinking about your yearly blessing list and thinking how to compose a list of my own. I am a list maker for sure. As I catch up on the posts I've missed or couldn't respond to, just wanted to let you know your list touched my heart. I'll add my yearly blessing list here soon. Thanks for the invitation.
