It is with open arms I welcome September. I am looking forward to the turning of leaves and all the changes that occur. There are already a sweeping's worth of leaves that gather at the door nearly every day. There is much anticipation, contemplation, and wonder about the days ahead.
Our home has seemingly had a revolving door for my daughter as she has tested her wings last summer and now flown away this summer, only to be back home AGAIN! An empty nest is not meant to be just yet. Last Wednesday night both girls experienced what electricity feels like when it goes through your body and a phone call home urged them to call the landlord right away. This began a series of questions and left the girls with no place to stay because the house was uninhabitable due to substandard wiring. Who wants to be electrocuted? Long story, short...the girls terminated their lease and we did a quick move to be out by last night. Now we wait for the landlord to "cool off" and hope she doesn't press the lease issue in court. A little common sense should tell her safety comes first. The girls can commute to school until their semester is over in December...a little inconvenient, but better than the alternative.

Thank goodness they are safe! I wouldn't think that lease would hold up under those circumstances.
Love your picture today, and yes I have leaves at my door also. I can't believe they're falling already!
Thank you, Joni, for your sweet, sweet message. (((hugs)))
Fall is the greatest! My very favorite time of the year! And we noticed quite a few changes happening as we traveled home from "way up north!" Now I wait for the beautiful color we are privileged to enjoy here in Minnesota.
There had best be no problems with breaking that lease! My goodness, the girls could have been killed!
Enjoy your day. I wish for you many blessings today.
After fall comes my FAVORITE season!! I'm glad the girls are ok and let that landlord take those girls to court, cause one the girls tells the judge what took place, well yea, she'll lose! Maybe get an electrician out to check it out to take too court if its gets that far!!! but at least the girls are safe!
Hugs~

Glad they're safe sweetie! Pooh on the landlady! Unsafe wiring?? She better get it brought up to code!!hughugs
Sounds like they did the right thing by moving out! A little threat to call the county building codes inspector should help to calm down the landlord too, if need be.
oh wow, joni....how scary...and i can't imagine she wouldn't understand when she cools off.....december isn't that far away.....this empty nest of yours keeps filling back up! :-)..lol....and i am sure you are enjoying it, if you haven't collapsed!!!!
hugs dear friend,
