meme de cinco

Denise and Patti tagged me to post the fifth picture in the fifth folder and here it is: Strangely, well, maybe not so strangely as being organized is not my strong point, it was out of place being a vacation picture that was put into the family folder and I had to ask Mr. B. if he remembered where we were at and we both decided it was taken at Calico Ghost Town on one of our vacations. I do not know why I am drawn to take pictures in cemeteries, but I thought this one was interesting. Different places we have traveled have different types of cemeteries and some of their differences are relative to the time they were being....populated? Hmmm, strange way of thinking about it, but for lack of a better word...I could probably do an entire series on cemeteries, because I have lots of pictures. The cemeteries in Hawaii look much different than
the ones say up near our Yosemite National Park area...and for some reason this fascinates me. Am I the only one? I'll have to "dig them up" and show you what I mean! This cemetery is in southern California.

click on picture to enlarge for a better view...and yes, that's our humble little travel trailer.

I'm supposed to TAG five people to do this, so if you are curious about what might be in your fifth file folder for photos (phew, say that fast five times!), then you might as well share it with all of us! Especially because some of us are extremely bored these days just waiting in the shadows for school to start and need the entertainment...truly. Be thankful some of you do not live closer, I'd be at your house everyday!

Would you clean my house if you came by? If so, come on over!!! LOL

I do enjoy cemeteries as well. My hubby thinks that's weird. I think there's lots of interesting stuff there.

School and tax season have both started and I'm drowning already.

Happy Monday!!

I'm with Karen, I'm having to wade through around here.

I used to do rubbings of some of the old headstones when I was in England. They were so worn that it was the only way you could sometimes read the names and dates.

Now, that's a rather different cemetery than ones I've seen. Thanks for sharing.

I, too, have a fascination especially the very old ones. The one in St.Augustine is probably the oldest I've been to.

Have a great week!

Very interesting Joni. Must say I don't spend a lot of time visiting cemeteries, but when I do, yes, I am always drawn to the words on the tombstones...and imagining their lives, and filled with sadness with deaths of children etc etc.

Great photo though. I must go look at the fifth photo in my fifth folder sometime. Not promising anything though!

O, then how come you aren't over here?
I too love cemeteries, I think it's the calmness of them, and they are so spiritual, different religions, different cultures, I don't know I like them too, when my Dad died, I'd sit for hours in a lawn chair under neath the tree, where's he at, I'd talk to him for a while, then I'd read to him, I still enjoy going there, call me strange, it's o.k. =)
love to you
