catching up to myself

This is such a busy time of year for everyone. School is over for me and now I can enjoy the kids being home and the house decorated. I have only managed to squeeze in a little shopping, but for some reason I do not feel anxious about it. I know it will happen. The kids and I have been staying up late into the night watching past episodes of Arrested Development...and it has been very enjoyable, especially because I am not much of a TV person and never can sit still for very long...so I have treasured the moments...each of us snuggled into our own soft blankets, a nice fire going, and homemade hot chocolate...doesn't get much better than that. I'm sure blogging will be sporadic as we wind through these last few days in preparation for Christmas day. I hope everyone is enjoying their time shopping or creating last minute gifts from the heart. Is anyone going Christmas caroling or hosting a holiday party? Do share your special or fun holiday ventures.

Oh, I love that sweet graphic! Makes me want to cuddle up to that fire too!

This time of year can be hectic and stressful if we let it. But you have the right attitude! It is the season for loving!

Blessings to you!

Just enjoying the family as you are Joni. A wonderful week at the beach with all the kids and grandkids, now a special week with one little family...with the 2 yr old twins. Very special!

Enjoy the time !

Oh I am so happy for you. Time to relax and enjoy the kids. I will not be having time with my family all together this year and that is sad, but the reality of living far apart and working odd schedules. I will start wrapping presents today, we are sleeted in (no snow, just sleet!)and it is 16 degrees right now. So I will be enjoying my time in the house. I will be burning the fireplace the next four days too....I love cold days, and warm homes! Might even do some baking of Christmas goodies!

Pull up two chairs in front of that fire, pour the coffee (just a little cream for me, please) and I'm there, friend! Isn't that a cozy scene?

We are having those kids and families that can make it on Christmas Day afternoon. I'm taking it easy and not making a huge meal, as they'll have done that at their spouse's parents. We're having snackie appetizer things with cookie and candy chasers. I wish all could make it, but one son lives in Alaska and one in North Dakota so they won't be here. And our daughter is still in treatment (doing VERY well!) and won't be home. We will go to see her the next day. The group will still be in the 20's. The more the marrier!

Blessings to you during this holy season!

You just described heaven on earth, at least for me. That has to be my favorite thing to do. What a cozy picture you gave us.

There could never be a glow, on any hearth, that equals the warming comfort that our Friendship, My Darling Joni, has brought to my Soul. You are ever-so dear to me. And I celebrate the joy and delight that, even the thought of You, illuminates my Spirit with.
