Often when I do my homework, I cozy up in the soft pillows of my bed beneath the ceiling fan and do my reading or writing. It's a very comfortable spot so I can usually justify why my reading assignments have brought on a cat nap or two. The other day I was in between those stages...of reading and needing toothpicks for my eyes, when I began to look around the room at some of my things and I kept coming back to the little board where I hang my necklaces and stuff. I had to ask myself, "When did I start collecting hearts?" I remember where each one came from, but collectively I didn't realize I had surrounded myself with them. I intentionally collect dragonflies, but I think I may have more hearts than I do dragonflies. Isn't it funny how when we suspend ourselves in the moment we see things that have been there all along? My sincerest apologies to William Butler Yeats, Samuel Beckett, and T.S. Eliot.
The heart has reasons that reason does not understand.

They're all very beautiful hearts too!
Yes, I do think, Joni, when we slow ourselves down, that there is so much more to be noticed and appreciated!
I am having a great few catch up days, since returning home. Many thanks for your visit to my J for Jacaranda page.
I am transferring all my pikkies to an external hard drive to allow me to free up some space on my computer at last! Now I can download some of my Melbourne photos at long last! And when I buy an external dvd burner, then I will be able to enjoy my NY photos also!
Love those hearts...have a great Friday, and weekend!

You see you didn't collect hearts, you didn't start out to make a collection. Just like friends, they are there because of you. You have a huge heart, you have heart, you have a heart bigger than Texas (if you have heard that saying before!), you ...YOU are heart. So they all just wanted to come live with you.
I had a dream the other day that I was on a train (I don't ride trains so that was funny to me!) and I was talking to this person and found out she was a blogger and I knew her by her bogger name. Then I talked to another lady and the same thing, another blogger. Do you think that means we need to travel to meet??? Do you have a fall break from school? We have fall break Oct 16th and 17th. But I just wondered if most states have a similar thing?
i find that with myself, joni....that suddenly i notice i have a grouping of something that i didn't even realize i was so drawn to....and i agree about just taking time to appreciate what surrounds us....every morning i wake up and look at a little vignette by my side of the bed....so many things that make me smile....once again, it is the simple things. i think there may be a little valentine gift there too! *wink!
hugs...and hoping your day is lovely!

Your hearts are all beautiful.... the most beautiful of them all is yours. You are one incredible woman and I respect you so much.
Blessing on your day.
Lisa, I would love to meet some of my blogging friends, I think someday it will happen. No Fall break for me though...sadly...no break until Christmas.
OH look I see a little dragonfly, maybe a bracelet, there with your heart necklaces.
I think you have ended up with a collection of hearts because it is heart that is important to you. I hear it in every written conversation. The heart of caring, of God's compassion, of memories, and the heartbeat of people. It courses through you.
