They are the little joys from yesteryear
that use to fill one little boy's pockets...
they are the yo-yo's, Pez dispensers,
compasses, and little wind-up toys
that got left behind for me to sort through...
I must have turned each of them over in my hand
two or three times...reminiscing...smiling...thinking...
I'm not getting things cleaned out
as quickly as I thought I would.
This may take a while...and I'm OK with that.

I love this picture, what fun memories. I remember taking a picture one time when there were dolls strown all around and various little toys and things, I thought I would try and capture a point in time, to remember life as it was. I'm not sure where that picture is, but I've got boxes of things to go through someday.
Take time and enjoy the memories Joni, and when you're ready, you'll have room for all the new ones to come!
isnt it nice to hold something and remember? I do this from time to time when I come across something that has specail meaning to it. I have one of my Dad's little cap's he wore when he lost his hair from the chemo and I smell it hoping I get a whiff of his sweet smell, once I was rupping it and I found a little piece of his hair, I didnt want to desterb it and folded it back up and tucked it away gentley and put it up to be safe. What sweet memories we have.
Love ya lot's

yes, dear joni....it always sounds easier saying it than actually it is to DO it..i was wondering how this was going just the other day.....
i am very good at thinking i will just "get rid" of all the clutter....but when i hold it all in my hands and remember memories associated with it....it usually just goes back in the box~! :)
there really is no hurry, is there?....and i wish you fun time, happy memories....and a bit of success! :)
hugs dear friend
I am so happy for you. Don't throw it all away right away. Unless you are just really really hurting for the extra room, take your time. That is such a sweet memory of days gone by, gone much to quickly, yes, they are just things, but still hold special value to you!!! Enjoy!
I love going back in time with things like this. Ejoy them and take your time.
I am a bit the same with letters...I love sitting reading old letters...when I come back to "reality", I never quite know where I am and what year it is ...for a while!!

Oh what memories huh? Funny how little things bring back such big memories like it was yesterday.
Take you time. Enjoy.
God Bless You Joni

You just gave me a smile of recognition. I have saved all manner of toys ... and carry a "grocery list" written by my daughter when she was seven. And I have no inclination to dispose of any of it. Treasures take all forms and shapes. And i cherish them all. You ... included!
