when lightning strikes...

Fire officials say there are over 800 wildfires burning around California, sparked by an unprecedented lightning storm.

The air we are breathing right now is not healthy...there are dark clouds of soot hovering over the valley...the dried grasses around most of the freeways have become charred from fire...we are seeing more and more fire department activity...it's hot outside and fire spreads very quickly...please pray for the families and business owners who have lost everything in the recent rampage of fires in California.

it's a very sad thing around here, as you know Amanda's boyfriend is a volunteer fire fighter, and he said there seem's to be more call's, compared to last year and this week ALOT of medical call's with people not breathing well at all, and when you have a hard time breathing then usally your heart is working harder, so now there might be heart issue thing with some....I think about the firefighter fighting so hard to safe peoples home, and the effect it has on our fire men as well. Your so sweet to think of other's like you do, but that's one of the many traits we love about YOU!

Sorry to hear about the fires Joni. I have hardly heard a news bulletin for ages. Hope the risk will soon be over for everyone. Annie.

Thinking about you. I can't imagine how horrible it must be to be breathing all that smoke and also having to worry about your homes. They've been burning harvested wheat fields around here and I've been miserable from it.

I'm looking forward to the challenge tomorrow!

I am definately praying. I heard yesterday that the haze we have up here in Oregon is the smoke from those fires. That boggles my mind.

Have you become aquainted with Gene at all in blogland? He is a fire fighter in those areas. Here is his link if you are curious.
Blessings to you and your family.
