spontaneity

Years ago in the wee hours of the morning my husband and I spontaneously took off for a drive to the city with the top off of his jeep. I remember being wrapped up in a blanket because I was freezing and once we got there everything naturally was closed, but we drove through the darkness with no particular destination in mind..and that was one of the best trips ever, simply because it was spontaneous...I never want to get so old I can't be spontaneous...do you have a story to share about a fleeting moment that held you hostage and returned you with a better understanding of what
living might actually entail?

Spontaneous is fun. This past spring break, I had been asking the kids where they wanted to go, not really knowing if we could afford to go anywhere but wanting to get the kids excited so we would go anyway. The more I thought about it, the more I thought I had to do before we went.(clean car, clean house, buy new eye glasses, etc.) My daughter didn't want to be away from friends. Chad really wanted to go to the Alamo again in San Antonio. The Friday night they got out of school for Spring Break, at about 10:00 at night, I was online trying to find a hotel room in San Antonio, grabbing I think what was the last one, and we left at around 5 or 6 the next morning, drove the 5 hours and stayed 3 days and in spite of not being organized or prepared, we had a blast! Your adventure sounds really nice too! I'll try to come up with some photos for the challenge! thanks.

The most recent spontaneous moment; last Saturday my daughter called and said "come over, we're going to the beach." We rode around the rest of that day and the next looking at houses for sale that no way on this green earth we could afford! It was fun, fun and more fun. :)

Once, when the kids were small I packed a picnic of peanut butter sandwiches and ice tea, and we went and ate it at the library park. It was one of those beautiful rare days that seemed endless.
When we finsihed our lunch, we got on the stage for outdoor plays and acted out a skit we put together in just a few minutes.
They always bring that day up..
Sending you love, Nita

Hi Joni,

I'm a friend of Karen of Faith of a Single Mom. I found your site through her site. I love your flower pics!!

My husband and I are pretty spontaneous too. Once we took a vacation, where we left our house and when we got to the first real intersection, decided if we would go left or right. We just made the trip up as we drove. It was so much fun!!!

Nice to meet you!

You have awakened my "Rememberer." And I will return with whatever the next cup of coffee stirs. But must take THIS moment to say "Bless You" for the beauty of this present instant of joyous Spirit life.

I love you.

Thank you for reminding me it's been way too long away from my spontaneous side! Now I'm wondering where that part went and where it's gone! I must ponder this today, girl!

I'm glad you've still got it :)
