hydrangeas

There are many different kinds of flowers and plants in my garden, but I am particularly fond of the hydrangeas that rest beneath the front window…they were a gift some years back from my dad for Mother’s Day. Their blossoms are currently pink, but I am hoping to alter the soil by adding aluminum sulfate so they will change to blue.
I’ve noticed hydrangeas popping up on everything from kitchenware to linens, why do you suppose they have become so popular? I enjoy them for their soft tones and I suppose for their romantic charm. I like how they nestle in next to the house and announce the arrival of summer with sweet lulls of welcoming clusters...they are just so precious.

Thanks for your visit to my blog Joni..and thanks for the Hydrangeas...I love hydrangeas. One of my absolute favourites. I love the way they can change color, that is always amazing to me. They also remind me of my grandmother and others in the older generations, don't know why!Love your blog also, (one of my favourites) and the music. I often visit to listen to the music! I have gone way over my mb limit this month, reading people's blogs and listening to their music. You have an intriguing peice of music there that is often in my brain, I will have to google it to find the words! Love,Annie

I love hydrangeas and keep adding to my collection hoping to find the perfect spot for them. They are flowers that stimulate memories of my childhood like the smell of lilacs. Your photos are beautiful.

The blue one is just like the one over at my Mom's. Her Mom gave her a cutting and I have always wanted to have one here. Just this weekend, I was talking to a customer at the yard sale about how to do it!

He said wait until fall and this is the year!

What beautiful flowers you have :)
