My treasure today is this sweet little canine who keeps me company. Lacey greets me at the door with a happy wag of her tail and she follows me everywhere I go. This past week I was very concerned about her because her entire spirit changed. She became kind of listless and I could tell by her eyes and actions that something wasn’t right. Kristin took her to the vet (they were so gracious to see her on short notice) and we learned she had an ear infection. It made me realize how much I take her sweet nature for granted. She is such a trooper, always lovable and devoted…she brings the newspaper in for us and even has the mailman trained to give HER the mail. She runs out to the mailbox and greets him and he puts a rubber band around the mail to make it easier for her to carry in. Being an honorary Golden Retriever she always looks like she has a smile on her face, something characteristic to the breed. I say “honorary” because when she was a puppy we were told she was a purebred and indeed did pay for a purebred, but as she got older we began to have our doubts, although the vet said she still could be, but the white blaze that runs through the center of her face is a bit unusual. She loves to go backpacking, although her aging hips would probably not do so well these days, she has to always be in the room with one of us and I especially enjoy her company when I am working in the garden. She has to poke her nose into everything I’m doing…she smells the flowers and I think it is so cute…she especially loves the strawberry plants and when the little strawberries become ripe I give them to her, so often I will find her waiting patiently for me by the strawberry plants. She really is a treasure and I’ve gotten to be quite attached to her.

Good Morning! What a sweet dog!
Thanks for dropping by to see me and sharing your joy in the Lord with me. Isn't it cool how we can share the same faith and experiences with the same Lord, on opposite ends of the country or world? When I read about your dreams of going to Italy when you win a billion dollars, I wanted to say, "Can I come too"?
One more thing, something I read on your blog made me think you might be teaching? Just wondering. . . I've signed up to be a substitute and I'm currently trying to get my nerve up to accept an assignment!
Lacey is absolutely adorable and how could anyone not love her to pieces!
i love the picture where you can just look into her big brown eyes.....endless love.
i have a friend like this too....while i am blogging he is always right at my feet....and follows me everywhere during the day.....he greets us every day, without fail, like we have been away for a week.....even if i just run to the store for five minutes....it is easy to go about my day and take him for granted...but he usually does something to remind me that he needs some good affection! he is definitely a big part of our lives.
have a beautiful day,
kimberly
Lacey is every bit of you said...I love the picture's of her, when we once had cherry tomatoes, Kelsi thought they were ball's and we had red and green tomaotes all over, then when she relized, I guess, she started eating them! Dog's...truley are man's best friend! Love, Nettie
That you can enjoy Life's 'embrace' and sweet expressions of Love through an emissary as beautiful as Lacy makes the Gift all the more precious. But, than again, no less would be fitting your Heart, Dear, Sweet Joni.
I do Love You, Ya know ...
My day was full of obligations so I didn't get to come look at your Tuesday Treasure until this evening. What a blessing to my heart to see Lacy's sweet face and to read your words describing her. I can feel the love you have for her pouring out of you.
Hope y'all have a good night, Phyllis
~What a lovely dog, beautiful picture.
I have noticed your name and comments around in different places and thought I'd drop by for a visit. So glad I did. Your site makes me smiles and breathe in joy.
Your sweet Lacey is very precious. Goldens are truly the best and most devoted companion in the world in my opinion. My Samson still holds a special place in my heart that cannot be replaced.
