just ducky

I thought you might want to see this year's Spring line of ducklings...aren't they cute?

I thought about Phyllis when I took the bottom picture...it reminded me of her painting.

When the kids were little we had a pet duck named Malibu for awhile and if I can figure out how to work the new scanner I'll share some adorable pictures of that time. Kristin use to pull him around in a little red wagon and he followed her everywhere. We got him when he was just born and raised him until he was full grown...then we introduced him to his own kind. Incidently, do you know how to tell a male from a female in the duck world? The white duck in the top of the picture is a female because her tail is straight...the male's tail feathers curl back.

Hope everyone has an enjoyable weekend~

I have always thought that a male's feathers should curl back ... only seems proper, don't you think?! [smile] Thank You darling Joni for these images and your spirit that speaks through your presentation of them. I have saved a few duck (actually several kinds of birds) photos for quiet "feel good" moments.

I love You, Joni!

Joni,

Been slow on blogs the past few days. I just looked at the duckies and the Mission photos and should have know if I'd just picked one blog for calm peaceful reading, I could have come here and felt better!

Thank you!!

Well now it's funny I did wonder how to tell the sex of white ducks, for mallards the males are coloured the females are brown. So thanks for answering my wondering :)
