It's Saturday...I can't believe how fast time goes by when I don't have to go to school everyday. This spring break has been just what I needed. Erik is home safely from Mexico and I now have a mountain of laundry to do. Reminds me a little of the days when he would come home from his boyscout camping trips, everything covered in a layer of dirt, but these clothes don't have the lingering smell of campfire in them and I doubt when I check the pockets I'll find the little treasures that caught his eye while hiking....all the things that in remembering put a smile on my face and a tug on my heart...the rocks, twigs, candy, bugs, have all graduated to forgotten receipts and wrappers...my little boy has grown up. What are some of the "treasures" you have found in the pockets of your little ones?

Joni, glad to hear Eric made home safely, how many people did he lead to our Lord, times does have a way of getting away from us...let's see what I can remember finding in my John's pockets....leaves, he picked up for me to put in vase, a "shell" once, he was so proud of that "shell" well I put that "shell" on the counter and it started to move!!!!!!!!!! a snail "shell", he was little, that's when Larry and I parted our ways for a while, I about crapped when I saw it moving, you know me....clean freak here....hello, o those where the days....Love ya Nettie
Annette, you make me laugh...
Erik said 25 responded to the alter call. I'm hoping he blogs about his trip. If he doesn't, I'll share more later...
One time my mom made my nephew a hamburger and put tomatoes on it not remembering he didn't like tomatoes and guess where they went when he thought no one was looking?
I just love little kids for the innocense they bring to everyday situations ~
Thanks for the nice comment Joni :)
You're sweet!
I'm glad Eric made it home safely as well :) I occasionally do my son's laundry if it's ready to throw in. Just recently, I reached in his sweatshirt pocket and felt what I thought were a bunch of condums! I brought my hand out FAST and thought OMG!
Turns out they were left over tiny balloons from when they were playing with a water balloon launcher the past weekend! He's almost 22...still a kid :)
Elizabeth..notes from friends..G.I. Joes in Austin's pockets.. C.J. use to leave notes from class in his pocket in High School..
I miss those days too. I think I forgot more things in my pocket than they did though. I am the Magpie in the family. Picking up little twigs and rocks. Finding small pieces of broken glass in blues and greens.
Good post. Love Nita
Hi Joni,
Gosh...I haven't found anything in a pocket for a long time.... I'm glad your son is back home safely. Thank you for your visits, too. I love stopping by for a cup of coffee and visiting your blog as well. I also really like the quotes you have sprinkled around...Anne Morrow Lindbergh is a favorite! Your picture of the dragonfly with the writing over it is beautiful...I can't really make out the words, but it's still captivating. I hope you have a beautiful day, inside and out! : )

A $5.00 bill...thought it was a tip!
Gum wrappers, safety pins, bolts, whistle, bottle caps.
Glad you son made it home safely. Bet you are happy to have him back with you.
Hugs
Patti
I find all sorts in my girl's pockets...like you twigs, stones, grass, 'treasures' they've found, and some really horrid things too.
Lovely to hear your Son's trip was a success.
~blessings.
Glad your son is home safely. I am pretty much at the stage of finding rocks, dirt and sand. Don't know if I am looking forward to the day where there might be more interesting things! Glad you enjoyed your break as well. Enjoy your day.
