I wish for your Easter day to be filled with the observance of little fingers clutching the colorful delights that are found in Easter baskets everywhere...I hope you take the time to nibble the ears off a chocolate Easter bunny yourself, remembering a time when the sheer sight of one made you feel special. I so love this time of year even though my own children have outgrown many of the little events that transpire from the imaginations of zealous parenting trying to make memories for their children. There still exists a "magic" that sings out from beneath all the new blossoms and chorus of fresh leaves. I love the excitement of children looking for Easter eggs in their freshly pressed Sunday attire and the innocence in their faces as they try to wrap their minds around the correlation between jelly beans and Jesus Christ. I love that they can walk away with often a better understanding than most adults...that it's all about LOVE.
Simple and secure LOVE.
My son Erik left yesterday morning for Mexico to spend a week trying to teach others about the spirit of LOVE through CHRIST JESUS. Every year the kids going experience something that stays with them...whether it be the dirty face of one special child or the way that child has grown into holding a machine gun at the age of 14 at the militant checkpoints. I always worry and I have a constant prayer going on in the background of my mind, but I am always filled with the promise of HOPE that hearts will be opened and I always look forward to the stories that are returned.
Do whisper a prayer if it falls on your heart ~
I hope you all have an extra-special, love-filled Easter ~ ~ ~ ~ <>< ~ ~ ~ ~

Saying a special prayer for Erik and also for those he will minister too that the words and deed his does will be accepted as a true gift from God and through Erik others will be able to see God and want to become His children as well.
You bless my heart Joni. My little ones just left for the day and I'm rushing out the door to shop for Easter fixings for our meal tomorrow. It's a wonderful warm day today and tomorrow will be too. I can't wait to hide eggs ONE MORE TIME!
Eat a bunny ear for me!

I love the words.....so true and I can remember the excitment as a child and then having children I remember seeing their excitment when the Easter Bunny left basket's on the front door step,,,ahhh those where the day's, I love what Christ has done to my life, even though I doubt it at times, my prayer for Erik is that someone or somebody will see christ in Erik and say.."I want what he's got" and have Erik lead them to our Lord...there is soooo much power in prayer...Love ya bunches & bunches Nettie
I hope you have a blessed Easter. I do hope that you have some chocolate bunny ears to munch on, young and younger need to have that experience once a year! Enjoy your day. My prayers will be with your son during his journey this week.
My Darling Joni, how my Spirit does soar on the wings of your whispered music of expression.
Your "the imaginations of zealous parenting trying to make memories for their children" and "a "magic" that sings out from beneath all the new blossoms and chorus of fresh leaves" embedded a smile on my face that I am thoroughly enjoying.
How blessed my world is with our shared habitation of it. I truly cherish You.
Erik will be in my prayers and God bless him for the work he does.
It is a little sad when they are grown. I still made my son an Easter basket and wondered tearfully, if he does join the Air Force...where will he be next year?
I just thank God he is still here NOW :) Beautiful post ((Joni))
