Tuesday's Treasure

My Tuesday’s Treasure this week is a pair of vintage knitting needles…simple, yes…but I love them and the best part is I actually do use them. A dear friend gave them to me a few years back, tucked obscurely in with a birthday gift. She purchased them in an Antique Store and they had the .39-cent label in the picture taped around them, but I do believe they have been well used. All of the red color is worn from the tops and the points are rather dull. Not that I am a Purist or particularly old fashioned, but there is just something very charming about using items from days long gone. I often wonder who else may have owned them. Oh, if knitting needles could talk! I’ve even discovered they do not throw up any red flags at airports (unlike aluminum foil, but that’s a story for another day). You can still find wooden knitting needles, but I think nowadays they are bamboo and these appear to be made from solid Maple and they were made in the U.S.A. I just love them for their simplistic charm and of course because they were a gift from a very special friend. I will always treasure them...

What a special treasure. I admire those who knit, I do not have the patience :)

Oh, to add a watermark to your picturs depends on what photo program you have. A simple way to do it is to add a text box to your picture and just type you name, blog name, or another phrase onto the picture. The best place to put the text is in a location which does not effect the picture, but makes it difficult for someone to crop the writing out of it. I never realized how many people take pictures off of other's blogs. Good luck!

What a special treasure to have and hold in ones hands items owned and used by someone else. Even more special is to be able to use them yourself. Good for you Joni! I truly loved getting to see your Tuesday treasure today.
