Tuesday's Treasure

This is a doll that my mother made for me. When she was in her 60’s she suddenly became creative after years and years of not having any hobbies. Mom hand-poured, hand painted and designed all of the clothes. She knew I loved antique dolls and did her best to give her a vintage look. The doll is flawless from head to toe and when I convinced her to enter the doll in the state fair she thought it was silly. She only won “Honorable Mention”, but you would have thought she won “First Place”. For me, the doll is a reminder that age should never be a barrier to learning new things. Y

handmade by your mother.....what a wonderful treasure! and as you say, it is such a sweet reminder to continue our passions...new and old. that saying "we don't stop playing because we grow older, we grow older because we stop playing" can also pertain to learning.
