Happy Birthday Dad!

Today is my dad's 80th birthday! The kids and I went out to see him this afternoon and as usual he was quite the character. He and Kristin get each other all wound up joking with each other. I was grateful to both of the kids for going out with me. It's always difficult to pull them away from their busy lives but I think they're always glad they did once they get out there. They laugh and cut up with their Grandpa. This time I took pictures and right before we left, Erik video recorded (on Kristin's phone) Kristin and her Grandpa dancing in the kitchen. Just priceless. The picture with this post today is a cutting from one of his plants that I gave him for his birthday several years ago. It always blooms right around his birthday so I call it Dad's plant but it is actually Sedum Cauticolum. I took this picture early this morning. Everything outside feels clean and fresh after the rain we had all day yesterday. Kind of a nice change of pace, definitely a good day for being another year older. We were truly blessed to be able to spend a portion of our day with dad.
